We wish to announce that Computerrecycling.ie will not necessarily donate computers to third world countries. However if a customer expressly request this, we will make sure that the products for donation are up to the standard as that which can be safely reused by the recipient countries without fear of these ending up in landfills and the ghettos.

WE DO NOT SUPPORT THIRD WORLD DUMPING OF ELECTRONIS WASTE!

All machine collected for recycling are as a matter of rule securely sanitized and put into use locally.
Machines that are too far gone for reuse are broken up. Individual components are sorted and shredded, melted and recovered for the remanufacturing process.

We have been to some of these places, we are aware of the extent of the damages that the so-called third world computer for education programmes is having on the environment.
We are also aware of the health hazards to the recipient communities. Ditto the dangers of the possibility of sensitive data from hard drives and other storage media ending up in the hands of people who knows how to put them to not so good use. Be aware!
